How to play Toy Troopers

Two toy armies, three troopers each, take turns on a playroom battlefield made of clay. Every explosion blows a hole in the ground, so the map changes as you play. Knock enemies into the water or wear down their health. The last army standing wins.

Controls

  • ← →: walk · ↑ ↓: aim · Enter: jump
  • Hold Space to charge your shot, then release to fire
  • 1–4: switch weapons · Z: zoom out to see the whole map · drag the screen to look around
  • Phones and tablets: use the on-screen buttons, and tap the map to call in an air strike

Weapons

  • Toy Bazooka: explodes on impact, and the wind pushes it off course
  • Marble Grenade: bounces and goes off after 3 seconds. Wind doesn’t affect it, so it’s great for hitting troopers behind cover.
  • Foam Shotgun: two straight shots per turn, and wind doesn’t matter
  • Paper Plane Strike: drops five bombs wherever you click. Each army gets only one per match.

Tips

  • Check the wind meter before every bazooka shot. Shooting into the wind needs more power.
  • Troopers standing near cliff edges are easy to blast into the water for an instant knockout.
  • Long falls hurt, so watch where you jump.

A tribute to classic artillery games

Toy Troopers is an original browser game inspired by the turn-based artillery games of the 90s. The characters, weapons, art, code and sound are all made from scratch.
